ANNOUNCING! Name change!
If you follow my page at all, you'll probably notice that something has changed. I've changed my name from Oh So Sweet Photography to Karen Travers Photography.
As I'm starting to get into different areas of photography, I started to feel a little limited by my previous name.
I'm pretty excited about this name change, I've been wanting to do it for a while, but please hang in there while I get things changed around. You can still contact me in all the same ways, through the website, through my Facebook page, and phone number is still the same. The only contact information that is going to change is my direct email address. This will now be:
karen@karentraversphotography.com
You'll still be able to reach me at the old email address while I get things changed around. :) Thanks for sticking with me through some exciting changes!
Eagle River Twin Newborn Photography | "T" Family Twin Newborns
Remember back in January when I said I was going to be awesome sauce this year and keep up with blogging. Fail. This session happened back in March and here I finally am, leaves on the trees and wearing short sleeves instead of bundled up and shivering like I was in March when I did this shoot.
Yay for twins! As a newborn photographer in Eagle River, Alaska, newborn multiple sessions are rare. So I get super excited every time one books with me.
These are the busiest parents ever. Newborn twin boys, and a very active 2 year old big sister. Whew. I got sleep deprived just thinking about that. Their parents are so much fun, and we found out that we both have kiddos with the initials "TNT" so we knew we were going to get along.
Already I could see the differences in their little personalities. So sweet!

"P" family continued (plus 1)!
How sweet is this little man? He is so loved by not only his excited parents, but mom came in with handmade things from both grandmothers to use as props in his photos. (Where's the crying face emoji when you need it?)
I got so many sweet sleepy smiles which I LOVE, and had so much fun. Love this family!
Eagle River Child Photography | "K" 1 Year Old Zoo Session!
I love doing 1 year old pictures. It's such a fun age, and it doesn't matter if baby is happy or not, all the pictures will be cute. Even the crying, the derp, and the scowls. It's all cute.
However, "K" baby was a happy smiley little guy, and his sweet mom asked for a zoo theme, and because I LOVE themed sessions like this, I took her idea, and ran with it. Right to my sister in law. She immediately had so many ideas and we came up with this set up. She made the super awesome animals you see. The best, I'm telling you.

Eagle River Maternity Photography | "P" Family Maternity
You guys want to see a picture of the world's bravest mom? I'm going to show you.
I have a favorite spot for photography. Mountain views, water views, skyline views, it has it all. So when I suggested this spot for maternity photos, what didn't occur to me was how COLD it would be. I also provide maternity dresses for my shoots, so when she said she wanted to do this pretty blush pink, I was excited because 1. I love pink and 2. I thought it would add some warmth to the pictures. LOL. It was the beginning of March in Alaska, everything is covered in snow, good one Karen.
When I dropped her dress off to her before her shoot, I knew she would rock this shoot because this girl is GORGEOUS.
Anyway, the day arrived, and it happened to be during our cold snap. We get up to where we're going and it's a solid 10 degrees. With a wind. Nooooo! So "P" family arrives and I warn them about the cold, and they still want to continue (see, brave.). So I know regardless, that I have to be FAST about this because who wants to be up a mountain without a coat on for long in that cold? We did manage to get some chatting in between chattering teeth and I found out that mom and dad are SO EXCITED to be having a boy.
Anyway, we managed to get it done in record time and back off the mountain and into the warm truck with recommendations of warm baths and warm drinks. And only a couple weeks later I got to meet their sweet little man and do newborn photos for them.

Confession: I love this sweet family. They took a chance on me last summer when they were still only a family of 4 and I was just starting out for a family session, and now they are back as a family of 5 with their brand new little man for newborn photos.
We started out this session with sibling photos. Sibling photos can be interesting, usually hit or miss, and we found out quickly that Pinterest photos make it look way too easy. We did manage to tough it out and get some super cute photos!
I had so much fun talking to them about what it was like settling into a routine as a family of 5 (spoiler alert: it's chaos), and so glad they came to me again for photos.
Side note: how gorgeous is this mom? Yeesh.
