If you follow my page at all, you'll probably notice that something has changed. I've changed my name from Oh So Sweet Photography to Karen Travers Photography.
As I'm starting to get into different areas of photography, I started to feel a little limited by my previous name.
I'm pretty excited about this name change, I've been wanting to do it for a while, but please hang in there while I get things changed around. You can still contact me in all the same ways, through the website, through my Facebook page, and phone number is still the same. The only contact information that is going to change is my direct email address. This will now be:

You'll still be able to reach me at the old email address while I get things changed around. :) Thanks for sticking with me through some exciting changes!
Eagle River Child Photography | "K" 1 Year Old Zoo Session!
I love doing 1 year old pictures. It's such a fun age, and it doesn't matter if baby is happy or not, all the pictures will be cute. Even the crying, the derp, and the scowls. It's all cute.
However, "K" baby was a happy smiley little guy, and his sweet mom asked for a zoo theme, and because I LOVE themed sessions like this, I took her idea, and ran with it. Right to my sister in law. She immediately had so many ideas and we came up with this set up. She made the super awesome animals you see. The best, I'm telling you.

Anchorage and Eagle River Children Photographer | Valentine's Day Mini Sessions!
So, I have so many ideas for these sessions, I might not even be able to fit it all in. But my approach to children's photography is to mostly just play and let them be themselves while trying to get some good pictures, so I feel like having multiple setups will be a good thing!
We'll have balloons, flowers, red (washable!) paint, mini canvases for said paint to go on, hearts, and LOVE! (The painting is completely optional. I totally understand that putting your child in their nice clothes and then giving them RED paint is not going to be appealing to everyone.)
Sessions will be January 21st from 10am until 3pm. Spots will be 30 minutes and include 5 digital images. Spots are going quickly, contact me to book your spots quickly!
Eagle River Child Photography | Baby "P" Cake Smash
My resolution for the new year is to keep up with my blog. I'm terrible about writing about my sessions, so here goes! 2017, I'm coming at you. With a blog.
This is one of my last sessions of 2016. And my first ever cake smash. I was so ridiculously excited to do this, and then baby's awesome mom chose one of my favorite color combinations (blue and lime), and I could barely wait to see the whole thing set up and ready.
I learned a few things from this session (ALWAYS get extra balloons for example), but mostly what I discovered is that cake smashes are SO MUCH FUN. We started off with some "clean" shots, went to the cake smash, and then finished off getting clean in my little bathtub (bucket ;)). Mom and Dad were in from Florida for the holidays and I almost asked if they had room in their suitcases for me, but managed to hold back.
I don't even need to tell you, because you'll see from the pictures, but little man was SO adorable. And every time he caught sight of his dad, he absolutely lit up. So sweet.

Eagle River Alaska Child Photography | Princess Mini Sessions!
Oh my gosh. I had way too much fun with these amazing sessions. We had glitter, roses, tiaras, flower petals, gems, and DRESSES. Oh, the dresses.
We had a couple little girls come in that were timid, but once they saw how much fun we were having, they got into it immediately, and some little girls were timid until they saw the dresses they were going to be able to wear, and it didn't take much convincing after that.
I'm seriously sad that these sessions are finished, but I will for sure be doing them again at some point, and I'm already excited for that day!
And now, the princesses! (Or queens, as one sweet little girl informed me.)
Anchorage Alaska Newborn Photography | "M" Baby Girl {Anchorage, Alaska}
Oh my gosh, this little girl was an absolute dream. Little girls just keep proving that they are better sleepers than little boys. I know there are always exceptions to the rule, but that just seems to be my experience with babies, including my own kiddos! I met this sweet girl when she was a few weeks old, and she just let me play. We had tons of props to use, we had way too much fun.
Have I told you all that newborns are my favorite? Being an Anchorage Alaska Newborn Photographer has been like a dream come true to me. Every time someone comes to me with a new inquiry for a newborn, I get all kinds of excited. I get to take beautiful pictures of babies, and I get to snuggle a brand new little one for a few hours. Win-win!
